Workforce Engagement
Are you responsible for bringing in speakers or seminar leaders to talk about
workforce issues in strong and authentic ways that inspire your people?

Is your organization ready to strengthen its commitment to transformation but needs support to talk about difficult subjects openly and honestly?

Is your workplace unsure of how to seek and implement real solutions? Do you have a roadmap and a way to measure the success of your programs?
It is my great joy to design and facilitate keynote addresses, live seminars, and online webinars that inspire people to work in ways that result in a focused, fulfilled, and inclusive workforce. I firmly believe organizations thrive when their people and those they serve feel valued and appreciated. Having a sense of belonging and fairness isn’t a “nice to have” but a “must-have” for any organization to fulfill its mission.
Safe, interactive sessions can produce lasting results when we have fun as we learn. I use storytelling and other collaborative tools to increase empathy and communication, resulting in greater confidence within individuals and understanding and unity between colleagues.
A SAMPLE OF SEMINARS INCLUDE:
SO MANY CULTURES
Today’s work environment includes people from all over the world. Participants gain greater comfort and skill in dealing with cultural differences and repairing cultural misunderstandings. They leave the workshop with a greater awareness of what unconscious behaviors we all use to create unintended barriers and practical, inclusive behaviors we can apply immediately.
CIVILITY AT WORK
Through interaction and small group discussion, we explore how civility makes an effective and happier workplace possible. Incivility goes against an organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Then, why are some of our organizations not as civil as they could be? We will describe the causes and costs of incivility and examine how we might excuse our own behavior when we are stressed and busy. Participants develop the skills to create a culture of compassion and respect.
GENERATIONAL UNDERSTANDING
How does the time period in which we are raised affect our ideas on loyalty, education, technology, mobility, and multiculturalism? How can we better understand our different perspectives and expectations of the workplace? This seminar will identify changing trends and unique concerns and motivators for different age groups. We look at ways to benefit from and value our differences, plus take advantage of each generation’s strengths.
BUILDING TRUST WITH COMMUNITIES OF COLOR
Participants learn not to take mistrust personally and understand the deep roots of mistreatment that make some wary of believing an organization’s mission and good intentions. We explore the necessary sensitivities and communication skills to expand markets, attract diverse hires, and contribute to a more equitable society.
BEYOND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS – HOW NOT TO WALK ON EGGSHELLS AROUND EACH OTHER
In this workshop, we look at the communication challenges of living in a multicultural world. So often, you hear people say, “I don’t know what to say anymore. You have to be so careful.” Ms. O’Halloran will give practical, common-sense guidelines for treating each other respectfully. People leave the workshop with a greater awareness of what behaviors create insiders and outsiders and practical, inclusive skills that can be applied immediately for greater employee engagement, retention, and work satisfaction. Through non-blaming, non-threatening, interactive exercises, we consider the similarities and differences within and between work groups and learn to emphasize our united strengths.

THE VALUE OF DIVERSE THINKING STYLES
It doesn’t matter how much colleagues like and even respect one another. When solving a problem or making decisions, we can approach situations so differently that one might think we aren’t even discussing the same issue.
We all think in multiple ways, but each of us has a preferred thinking style. There is no right way to think, but if coworkers are unaware of their own mode and judgmental of others, unnecessary conflicts arise. Participants learn a four-stage creative problem-solving and decision-making process that leverages individuals’ unique contributions.

THE BUSINESS IMPLICATIONS OF RACE
I help organizations trace the direct line from past discrimination to their present-day work environment, where they may unintentionally exclude people in their workforce and community. I show organizations how to be “Color Brave,” actively searching for and dismantling discrimination in their company’s seemingly race-neutral policies and practices. My emphasis is on responsibility, not guilt. Response-ability means being able to respond. We can respond because now we see. Honest conversation and increased communication skills across lines of difference build trust and create workplaces where employees want to give their best. Color-brave professionals can expand their markets, attract high-quality talent, fulfill their mission, and contribute to a more equitable society.
HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEAMS
An effective team is a collaboration of leaders, people who can contribute their unique gifts and inspire others to create excellent results! Are you becoming the person you were meant to be by the kind of work you’re doing and, most importantly, how you’re doing it? Are you living your biggest, boldest vision for yourself, and do you have the skills to propel you and your team to success? Keeping your thinking and actions powerful and effective is a decision and then a set of identifiable actions. We will illuminate how each team contributes to organizational success and a positive, rewarding work experience for every individual.
