Really DO Something about It.
![]() |
Some people would have you believe we’re too hardened to care about helping others. Some would say we’re too selfish. Too busy. But I don’t believe any of that. See, I believe people do truly care about each other. They simply don’t recognize the subtle ways they isolate other groups. And, most importantly, they don’t have any idea what to do to change it!
My name is Susan O’Halloran. And I’m driven to talk about one of the most uncomfortable, polarized subjects in our society today – diversity. I know what you’re thinking when you look at my picture. What can a white Irish-Catholic woman who grew up in Chicago tell YOU about diversity?
Plenty, if you give me a chance. My history growing up in a segregated neighborhood in Chicago taught me lessons firsthand of how we relate (or don’t relate) to other communities. I can help you or your organization by shining a light on the unconscious, unintentional things we all do that saps our good will, productivity and spirit. I lay out the issues in a non-threatening, often entertaining way. People leave my performances, keynotes or workshops feeling uplifted, intellectually and emotionally-stimulated, more connected to other people and empowered to make a difference.
Imagine all of us coming together to take on the injustices of our society. Imagine moving from fear, guilt and confusion to feeling comfortable and relaxed with each other. We have that power within us. We can transform our communities and our world.
How?
Through involvement,
through participation, through ACTION. Who you are does matter. But how
you act matters MORE. “Us vs. Them” may solidify your group
and put down your enemies, but Susan O’Halloran’s methods leave
people feeling that together we can do it!
Can you imagine a world where everybody wins? I can. And
I want to share with you and your organization practical tools and action
steps that will help us get there.
